Per this comment on the article , I’d vote CP.

If I would have known how many issues I was going to have with the 2016 malibu I would have never bought it. I bought it because of the new features and the new body style. Now after having the car just a little over 4 years I am having tons of issues. The drivers side window is messed up, the paint is starting to fade on the roof of the car and the hood, the car wont shift into park sometimes and get a message that says to shift into park, service Keyless start system, wheel stud came loose in the wheel, check engine light comes on sometimes when i.get gas. I have had many gm vehicles and I have never had any issues with them. This is the first GM vehicle I have had problems with.

I rented a 2016 Mailbu once.  It was a perfectly bland and unremarkable vehicle with the exception of actually getting in the thing.  I am tall, and the way the doors and roof met made ingress oddly difficult.  It’s like the top of the door opening was very low on the curvature of the roof.  Once inside there was a ton of room.  Weird car.  I wouldn’t pay money for one.

Going by my rental experience t hese are decent cars, very pleasant to drive in a non-sporty way, but I don’t think I’d want one that’s just been sitting for 4 years...

New GM quality + five years of sitting = pass.
